October closes with fewer theatrics and more shipping. Devtools teams move from agent concepts to usable systems, and enterprise buyers leaned in with real data and real workloads. If you build devtools, this week’s launches are worth a closer look. If you’re exploring new roles, the openings here skew toward ownership, product sense, and reliability at scale. Consider this your end‑of‑month skim before the doorbell rings. Quick reads, concrete takeaways, and a few treats for builders

👻 And from us all Develocity – a Happy Halloween!

🚀 DevTools Launches

Fulcrum Research open-sourced Quibbler (a critic agent for coding agents) and Orchestra (a multi‑agent coding system with a designer/executor pattern) to improve trust, oversight, and parallelization in agentic coding. The tools emphasize agentic validation, real‑time orchestration, and parallel execution. Read the launch post here.

Elastic introduced Agent Builder, letting developers rapidly build custom AI agents on enterprise data with built‑in context engineering, governance, and observability—powered by Elasticsearch. Announced by Ken Exner (CPO), the feature is now in Technical Preview on Elastic Cloud.. Read the announcement here.

Metorial (YC F25) launched Starbase, a browser‑based, open‑source Playground for testing MCP servers with integrated AI chat. It lets developers debug tools and chat with Claude or ChatGPT using their own MCP integrations, ranked #4 Product Hunt of the Day (Oct 27, 2025). Start testing here / show your support on Product Hunt.

Clad Labs (YC F25) debuted Chad, the “brainrot” IDE that embeds X, TikTok, Stake, and Tinder directly into your agentic coding workflow to fill inference downtime without losing context. Founded by Richard Wang and Richard Wang, early users report saving ~15 minutes per hour. Try Chad here or watch the demo here.
