The developer experience is currently defined by the challenge of system comprehension and architectural intent. As AI agents handle the heavy lifting of implementation, the real friction lies in the safe governance and understanding of increasingly complex, interdependent codebases. This week’s updates reflect that ongoing evolution, featuring platforms that treat collaboration as a native property of the codebase, orchestration layers for non-deterministic workflows, and proactive agents that monitor for architectural drift in real time.

🏆 DevTools Funding Wins
Tangled Secures $4.5M to Modernise Code Collaboration
Brothers Akshay and Anirudh Oppiliappan founded Tangled last year to replace fragmented review workflows with a unified, real-time environment for distributed engineering teams. The Helsinki-based startup has now raised $4.5M in a round led by ByFounders, with participation from Bain Capital Crypto, Antler, and notable angels including Thomas Dohmke and Mårten Mickos. Rather than layering more tooling on top of traditional pull requests, Tangled is building a platform where collaboration is native to the codebase itself. This approach aims to streamline how teams interact with complex systems, moving away from asynchronous friction toward a more seamless, integrated development experience.
🐏 Great news for the Tangled team, see the details here.
Potpie AI Banks $2.2M to Build the Context Layer for Agents
Potpie AI raised $2.2M in pre-seed funding led by Emergent Ventures to help AI agents navigate complex, million-line codebases. Founders Aditi Kothari and Dhiren Mathur are building a foundational layer that allows agents to understand architectural intent rather than just surface-level syntax. In the funding announcement, Kothari notes that the constraint in large enterprises has shifted from writing code to “understanding complex systems and safely evolving large, interdependent codebases.”
🥧 Congrats to the Potpie AI team, read the full announcement.
Unleash Raises $35M to Bridge the AI Stability Gap
Feature management platform Unleash has raised $35M in a Series B led by One Peak to scale its open-source FeatureOps tools. Founded by CEO, Egil Østhus, the company provides the governance layers and “kill switches” necessary to manage feature rollouts safely as AI-driven development accelerates deployment cycles. The platform is already used by major institutions like Lloyds Banking Group and Prudential to maintain stability during rapid releases. Østhus explained that when AI-generated code fails in production, teams need the immediate ability to diagnose and recover. This investment will help the team expand their footprint as the industry standard for safe, controlled software delivery.
🚩 Excellent milestone for Unleash, read the funding write-up.
Union.ai Completes $38.1M Series A for AI Orchestration
Union.ai has closed a $38.1M Series A led by NEA to expand its orchestration platform and the open-source Flyte project. Led by Ketan U. and Haytham Abuelfutuh, the company helps teams manage non-deterministic AI workflows by unifying data, models and compute into structured, production-ready pipelines. The funding will support the commercial rollout of Union 2.0, which introduces pure Python authoring and crash-resilient execution designed for real-world reliability. Mozilla Ventures also joined the round, backing Union’s open-source approach to AI infrastructure.
🚀 Huge news for Union.ai, see the full piece here.
🚀 New DevTools Launched
Ashr Brings Realistic User Simulation to Agent Testing
Built by Shreyas Kaps and Rohan Kulkarni, two ex-Berkeley founders, ashr (YC W26) is an SDK that catches bugs in AI agents by mimicking how real users actually behave. Rather than relying on clean, predictable test inputs, it runs suites that simulate obscure language, unclear instructions, and complex tool-call paths. Teams have run overnight agent swarms with Ashr and woken up to measurable reductions in hallucinations, without writing a single line of test code.
🧪 Nice work Shreyas and Rohan, give Ashr a go
Notte Introduces Anything API for Sites Without Public Access
Notte hit number one on Product Hunt on March 4th with the launch of Anything API, a tool that solves a persistent gap in browser automation: most websites still don’t expose usable APIs. Developers describe a task in natural language, and Notte’s agents build and deploy a custom function endpoint that calls the site directly. The managed infrastructure handles sessions, proxies, and identity, giving teams a serverless, schedulable API for any browser-based workflow.
🌐 Congrats on launch Andrea P. and Lucas Giordano and team- try Anything API
Velt Ships a Claude Code Plugin for Real-Time Collaboration
Velt has spent four years building collaboration infrastructure that companies like Varonis, Pendo, and HeyGen now run in production. This week, Rakesh Goyal and the team packaged it into a single Claude Code plugin. One command installs CRDT-based syncing, live comments, presence, and notifications into any application in under 10 minutes. For developers who have tried to build live sync from scratch and regretted it, this is the shortcut.
💬 Congratulations to Rakesh and the team, try the Velt plugin
