Full stack developer
Hybrid NYC or remote
Base to $160k
A leader in the B2B payment verification sector that already boasts some of the biggest names in VC and PE as their client. The industry is a $1T industry that has been experiencing huge fraudulent activities. Our client has created a definitive way to collect and confirm payment details, using advanced authentication based on proprietary tech and AI. Led by PhD computer scientists and security researchers, with decades of experience in engineering, cybersecurity, and cryptography, and many research accomplishments at Harvard, Stanford, MIT, the University of Chicago, Columbia, UTexas, and NYU.
We are now hiring a full stack developer to join the team.
The role
- You will be part of the core team and working on the flagship product
- Work together with your team (currently 4) to create standards and culture that will endure for years to come
- Design and innovate solutions to hard problems, and write a lot of code.
- Tech stack is python and react
We are looking for people who are thoughtful, not only about software problems, but about how teams work together to solve them, and how people collaborate to build an energizing and supportive workplace.
What are we looking for:
You are someone who cares a lot about designing software in a thoughtful way that takes into account bug prevention, testability, and maintainability. You are comfortable with the idea that product design should be data-driven, using evidence rather than opinion.
You have:
- 3-5 years of experience designing, building, and deploying sophisticated web applications.
- Experience with tools for testing. You know that the best software developers demonstrate that their code works, rather than dumping it on a QA department.
- Curiosity, and an interest in teaching and learning from your colleagues.
- Strong written communication skills.
Optionally
We strongly encourage you to apply even if you don’t meet all the criteria listed; the description is meant to be indicative, not a precise description of a pigeonhole.
- You have experience with modern UI frameworks, web standards, and web development best practices.
- You have a detailed understanding of the design of data models for use in relational databases.
- You have used cloud infrastructure to deploy reliable and scalable web applications.
- You have built authentication flows and/or implemented secure APIs.
- You have built or used tools for data analysis, performance profiling, and debugging.
This is a tight-knit, early-stage team that’s focused on building a product that customers love. With a strong company culture based on collaboration, ownership, and mentoring.
- This job is primarily remote, but candidates who wish can report to work in NYC (and receive relocation assistance).
- Competitive compensation and benefits, including salary, equity, paid medical insurance, company contribution to wellness, good coverage for dependents, dental, retirement, relocation assistance, and unlimited PTO
